Definition:

Having a custom built exhibition stand means anything that is designed and built specifically to your requirement. Custom built exhibition stands can be made from raw materials such as wood, metal, MDF, Glass, cardboard or plastic or they can be designed using standard off the shelf components.

Our client Eberspacher is a world leading supplier of heaters to the automotive and marine industry.

For 18 year they have come to Access Displays for their Custom built exhibition stands. Their requirement for The London Boat show was to produce a custom built exhibition stand that would stand out amongst the thousands of other exhibitors at London’s largest exhibition.

Once again our design department took the complete brief and came up with a few preliminary ideas to discuss with the client in more detail. The design that stuck out as the most dynamic and most eye catching was the Eberspacher galleon.

With a project of this nature the most important aspect is the detail. To get the true feel of a galleon the design needed to be to scale and have all the detail that you would find on a real galleon. As you can see in the photograph the entire stand has been set painted to look like it was made from 200 year old planks, complete with painted barrels, cannons and a 6m high mast with rigging. This is a great example on how creative our design team can be and how skilled our crafts men are at delivering a truly custom built exhibition stand. Need less to say our client was over the moon with the project and the stand was one of the most talked about exhibits at the show.

The Automobile Association (The AA) is one of the largest companies in the UK specialising in roadside vehicle recovery. For the last 18 years they have come to Access Displays for their custom built exhibition stands to be used as canvassing units by their team of sales staff.

• They are always very specific about what they need.
• The units need to be waterproof as they are generally used outside.
• They need to be robust as they will be used by vehicle mechanics as well as sales staff.
• They need to be within their budget.
• The Unit must be less than 25kg in weight. They need to be lightweight yet stable and most importantly they need to have the ability to easily and quickly change the graphics.

This is obviously a bespoke exhibition requirement. There is nothing off the shelf that could meet all of these requirements. So having taken the brief our design department got working on a number of ideas. After many discussions with R and D and many different suppliers they finally came up with a solution that met all of the clients’ criteria.

Our solution was to design a custom built exhibition stand using a standard off the shelf aluminium extrusion that has a unique hinge facility. This allows the unit to be folded flat and carried in a bag with a shoulder strap. Obviously being aluminium, it is water proof, robust, lightweight and totally recyclable.

To meet their specification regarding the ability to easily and quickly change graphics the aluminium profile allows the user to simply slide a printed posted behind an acrylic front sheet on the main body of the stand thus protecting it from the weather. On the top panel we used a standard size snap frame. These panels are very simple to use. You simply open the sides which are on springs, remove the acrylic sheet and add your printed collateral.
